While applying for the 「Import Permit」 for dogs and cats from rabies-free areas,
only Rabies Vaccination Certificates issued by veterinary clinics,
stating the animals’ breed, sex, age (or date of birth), microchip number,
date of inactivated rabies vaccination , are required. For dogs and cats to be imported from rabies-infected areas,
rabies neutralizing antibody test reports with the animals’ microchip numbers
and titre values no less than 0.5IU/ml are also required. (Blood samples must be
taken between 90 days and 1 years prior to shipment) Of course, copies of Veterinary
Certificates from government authorities may also be submitted, if available.
